Description:
Finding a tired single storey set of shops along Long St, Graceville, the brief was to create a sustainable extension, beautification with new amenity facilities added.To maintain the existing shell we incorporated a steel structure that allowed for an open span floor area. This approach led to a faster more economical construction, a quicker interior fit-out leading to the client to open sooner.
Successful negotiations with council led to the awning being added giving an extra 150m2 of footpath dining. The lightweight Modwood timber screen was designed to add a positive appearance to the corner of the precinct of the Graceville five ways.

BA Architects came up with many great design ideas that we hadn’t thought of and were incorporated into the final design of the home. I appreciated the level of detail and consideration BA Architects went to, especially the recommendations for specific sustainable materials and products, which created our Brisbane home.
Everyone who I dealt with was really on the ball. Bruno and Greg understood our needs in organising council approvals and certification on my behalf. That was great as it took everything off my hands. We would definitely consider completing another residential project with BA Architects.
