THINKING ABOUT BUILDING YOUR OWN HOME OR RENOVATING?
Your journey with BA Architects is more than a design process — it is the beginning of creating a home that reflects your life, your values, and the way you want to live for years to come.
Through a carefully considered five-stage approach, we guide you from the earliest ideas through to the completion of a home that feels deeply personal, functional, and enduring.
1. DEVELOPING YOUR VISION
Every home begins with a conversation.
During this first stage, we take the time to understand you — how you live, what inspires you, and what you want your home to become. We explore your lifestyle, future aspirations, spatial needs, budget, and timeframe to develop a clear and meaningful project brief.
This stage is not simply about rooms and measurements. It is about understanding how a home should feel, how it should connect people, and how it can support everyday living in a thoughtful and lasting way.
2. DESIGN RESPONSE
A home should respond naturally to both its owners and its environment.
Using your vision and the unique opportunities of the site, we begin shaping a design that reflects your way of living. Through sketches, diagrams, and conceptual ideas, we explore how spaces connect, how natural light enters the home, and how the home interacts with the landscape and surroundings.
This stage is where ideas begin to take form — balancing beauty, functionality, warmth, and individuality to create a home that feels distinctly yours.
3. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
Once the initial design direction is approved, we refine the home in greater detail.
During this stage, we carefully develop the design while considering budget, constructability, council requirements, and long-term functionality. Plans, elevations, sections, perspectives, and visual renders are prepared to help you fully experience the future home before construction begins.
Every detail is thoughtfully resolved to ensure the home is practical, timeless, and aligned with the original vision. Following your approval, the project is prepared for council submission.
4. CONTRACT DOCUMENTATION
A well-crafted home requires precision behind the scenes.
Detailed architectural drawings and specifications are produced to clearly communicate every aspect of the design for approvals and construction. These documents provide the clarity and coordination needed to ensure the home is built with care, accuracy, and attention to detail.
This stage transforms the vision of your home into a buildable reality.
5. CONSTRUCTION AND CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
The construction stage is where your future home comes to life.
Throughout the build, BA Architects remains closely involved to ensure the home is constructed in accordance with the design intent and documentation. We assist with builder selection, conduct site inspections, and help oversee the quality and progress of construction.
Our role is to advocate for the outcome you envisioned — ensuring every decision made during construction contributes to a home of lasting quality, comfort, and character.
From the first conversation to the moment you walk through the door, we are committed to guiding you through every stage of the journey — creating a home that is not only beautifully designed, but deeply connected to the people who live within it.
I was very satisfied with the overall outcome of the project, especially the design aspects that were suggested by BA Architects that were not originally in the brief. BA Architects came up with many great design ideas that we hadn’t thought of and were incorporated into the final design of the home. I appreciated the level of detail and consideration BA Architects went to, especially the recommendations for specific sustainable materials and products, which created our Brisbane home.
Everyone who I dealt with was really on the ball. Bruno and Greg understood our needs in organising council approvals and certification on my behalf. That was great as it took everything off my hands. We would definitely consider completing another residential project with BA Architects.
